For the first week of the Metrix Daily Anytime League, co-hosted by Card Merchant, we had a stellar turnout in the Competitive stream of 22 players. Their were players from all over the world coming together with their own unique creations to test and shape the new Arcane Rising metagame, and figure out who was the most glorious of heroes that would reign supreme in this first week of battle.
Thank you to all participants for staying home, self-isolating, and doing their bit to flatten the curve and prevent the spread of COVID-19!
The metagame here, like casual, was in favour of the original four heroes, with a little flavour of Viserai and Azalea shining through to show that Arcane Rising is starting to change the metagame.
In the end, one of the most consistent heroes in one of the most consistent players – Bravo met his new nemesis from the Demonastery, Viserai in the finals but the battle was saturated by Jason’s combolicious defensive approach, raining defense reactions on every play; Cayle really regretted leaving out Command and Conquer for this fight – in the battle of old vs new, Arcane Rising came out on top, with Viserai exploding so many Runes Cayle couldn’t find his way home.
There was a similar story to tell over in the Metrix Daily Casual League – Week 1, but what was the result?
NB: No decklists were received from Karol R or Jason L
We recorded a number of the matches played out as part of this event, and these will soon be available for your viewing:
